Fear can become a driving factor that leads to solving problems in a person’s life. When this happens you are motivated by fear. The desire to remove fear becomes the number one thing on your mind. But to remove fear you first consider what the definition of that fear. What is it that you are afraid of? Why is it important to remove the identified fear? Why has this fear become an obsession?
What Are You Afraid Of?
Defining what makes you afraid becomes the first step to successfully overcoming fear. Ask yourself and be honest about what you are most afraid of in your life.
Not so long ago, I experienced a life-changing moment. I was down-sized at work during one of the most challenging times for everyone world-wide. It was early 2020 and the world was at a stand still due to the pandemic.
My fear at that time was the loss of income. I knew immediately that I had to do something to start earning income. There was no time to feel sorry for myself.
Why Is It Important To Identify Your Fear?
It is nearly impossible to fix what you do not know or understand. When you become motivated by fear you begin to desire clarity. It is important to identify your fear. Start by asking yourself questions like:
- What am I afraid of most in life?
- Why brings about this fear?
- Why is it important to me to fix this fear?
Asking yourself these starter questions is a great way to create a path to overcoming fear.
How Is Fear A Motivation?
If fear is what drives you to become better than fear becomes the driving force. Fear becomes a motivation because you it keeps you doing better. To overcome fear of failure you stay focused on your purpose. You successfully used the fear of failure to drive your goals. Fear, in this instance, is not bad. It exists to help you pay attention to the things that matter to you the most in life.
